Defining kinetic energy – Kinetic energy is energy in which a item or thing possesses when it is put into motion. For instance you have a ball there is no kinetic energy just holding it in place but when you let the ball go you transfer energy to the ball which gives it kinetic energy.

What is the standard unit of kinetic energy and what variables effect and do not effect the kinetic energy of a object. The standard unit for kinetic energy is joules. Next is what variables change it so one of the variables is the mass of the item and the next is the velocity of the object.

Kinetic energy i not the only type of energy there is also potential energy, potential energy is the energy held by a object because of its position relative to others. so like the picture i first had the person holding the ball is the potential energy because it is not in motion yet which when it goes in motion the energy transfers to kinetic energy.

There is also things that can change the amount of potential energy that is the mass of the object and at what height you have the object. Now you have the g which is gravity so that does not change so that is not a factor

Defining work and identifying its units

Work – a force acting upon an object to cause a displacement. Work is only done if the object is moved so if two equal forces push on a object in separate directions there is no work being done.

Work is put into joules for the unit and to find the amount of work something did you would do this formula

The way to change the amount of work i by either changing the amount of force put into it or the distance traveled.
